Lead Engineer

What is the role?

The Lead Engineer is responsible for achieving project objectives by technically coordinating, planning, executing, tracking and assessing the results of the work of assigned projects.

Your workplace is at our Villa California Building office in Barendrecht. You will also work regularly at our project sites. The number of working hours will be determined after consultation.

Your responsibilities and duties

  • Responsible for: scope, quality and technical coordination for assigned project(s);
  • Technical point of contact for the client and software engineers working on the project;
  • Monitoring of progress;
  • Responsible for preparing projects and additional work calculations;
  • Reporting, discussing and budgeting changes to project hours;
  • Responsible for the agreed quality of work delivered;
  • Responsible for regular consultation on the progress of the work;
  • Co-managing, training and coaching of project staff;
  • Contributing to setting up, expanding, maintaining and complying to procedures and methods;
  • Advising on the required level of knowledge of Software Engineers;
  • Advising on job description changes;
  • Enforcing rules for safety and working conditions at the workplace and project site.

What you have to offer?

  • Minimum of Bachelor’s working and thinking level;
  • At least 7 years of relevant work experience;
  • The necessary knowledge of regulations, guidelines and standards; you can interpret and apply these correctly;
  • Good command of the English language, both spoken and written;
  • Good communication skills, both spoken and written;
  • Experience with object-oriented software development;
  • Knowledge of and experience with PLCs and SCADA systems;
  • You have knowledge of and experience with Bachmann systems, Javascript, Codesys and related Codesys platforms, and Atvise SCADA;
  • Knowledge of and experience with communication protocols and (industrial) networks;
  • A technical commercial attitude and well-developed analytical skills;
  • Knowledge of modern software applications such as Microsoft office (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint and projects) and preferably knowledge of Exact-online.

Software Engineer

What is the role?

The Software Engineer is responsible for the realisation of projects in the field of industrial automation within the maritime, infrastructure, offshore and industrial sectors.

Your workplace is at our Villa California Building office in Barendrecht. You are also regularly present at our project sites. You will also work regularly at our project sites.

Your responsibilities and duties

  • Working independently and/or supporting the Lead Engineer/Project Manager in carrying out engineering work in the various phases of a project such as:
    • Collecting, establishing and managing project starting points;
    • Preparing project and technical specifications;
    • Preparing quotations, cost calculations and project schedules;
    • Realisation of work within (sub)budget of the project and timely identification and reporting of changes to project hours;
    • Drawing up URS, specifications and/or work description;
    • Signalling and assisting with contract amendments;
    • Checking and monitoring the quality and quantity of the work delivered;
  • Liaising with, and advising clients and liaising with (potential) suppliers;
  • Providing project support during the realisation (construction) phase of projects;
  • Assisting in preparing quotations, cost calculations and project schedules;
  • Are aware of, and acts in accordance with, legal regulations;
  • Following and enforcing working procedures of Twinson and its customers;
  • Aligning operations with available project budget and schedule;
  • Directing and supervising (junior) colleagues and checking each other’s work;
  • Elaborating functional and technical designs;
  • Programming and testing controls, visualisation and control systems;
  • Setting up and implementing test protocols;
  • Integral testing and commissioning of installations (including after-care 24/7);
  • Drafting operating and system manuals;
  • Finalising finishing points and producing (final) documentation;
  • Enforcing rules for safety and working conditions at the workplace and project site.

What you have to offer?

  • Minimum Bachelor’s working and thinking level (software engineering);
  • 3 years of relevant work experience required;
  • Good command of the English language, both spoken and written;
  • Good communication skills;

Senior Software Engineer

Your responsibilities and duties

  • Realisation of software components/modules based on technical design;
  • Performing unit and integration testing;
  • Proactive communication within (sub) project budget and timely identification and reporting of project risks and changes to project hours;
  • Support through reviewing technical designs of projects;
  • Keeping up to date with new developments and techniques in the field of software engineering;
  • Being able to perform engineering work independently and monitoring the quality of the work delivered;
  • Responsible for maintaining the level of knowledge;
